We couldn’t have asked for better weather on our Swanage weekend—sunny skies and warm temperatures made for a perfect backdrop to our diving adventures. Conditions were especially good on Friday and Sunday, with calm seas and great visibility.

Swanage Boat Charters looked after us brilliantly—professional, efficient, and always ready to lend a hand. And of course, Sinbad (real name Tony) added his own splash of colour to the proceedings, keeping things lively on deck!
We kicked off the weekend with dives on the Fleur de Lys and Betsy Ann on Friday, followed by Peveril Ledges and the Kyarra on Saturday. Sunday wrapped things up nicely with a relaxed dive on the Old Mussel Beds. We had six divers booked in, although unfortunately Jason had to sit out the diving after injuring his knee just before the trip. He still managed to enjoy the sights of Swanage and joined us for the boat rides.

The standout dive for me was the Kyarra—with up to 10m visibility and a massive wreck to explore, it was truly spectacular. Peveril Ledges offered a nice bonus too, with lobsters and crabs tucked into the crevices. On the Fleur de Lys and Betsy Ann, a few curious congers made their presence known, adding a bit of excitement.
Since we started diving early each day and were finished by the afternoon, we had plenty of time to enjoy some of Swanage’s culinary gems—namely, the excellent Italian bakery and the local ice cream parlour. A treat for me, as I usually spend the whole day down on the pier before heading straight back to the accommodation. This time, our AirBnB was just a short 5-minute walk (albeit uphill!) from the pier, which made things super convenient.

All in all, it was a really pleasant and memorable weekend of diving. A big welcome and well done to Rubin, who joined us for his very first club diving weekend—great to have you along! – Teresa
