The May Bank Holiday weekend delivered the perfect excuse for three unforgettable days of diving in beautiful Pembrokeshire. With blue skies and sunshine throughout the trip, it almost felt like summer had arrived early. Air temperatures climbed to an incredible 30°C, making it hard to believe that beneath the surface the sea was still refreshingly cold!
Despite the chilly water, conditions could hardly have been better. The sea remained calm for the entire weekend, and visibility was more than respectable, making for some relaxed and enjoyable diving.
Our little team consisted of Teresa, Ian, and Jiří, while Sally expertly took care of all the organisation that kept everything running smoothly.
Over the three days we completed six dives around some of Pembrokeshire’s best-known sites, including Dale, Green Scar and Nolton Haven. Each dive lasted around 40 minutes, with maximum depths reaching approximately 17 metres—ideal for leisurely exploring the underwater scenery without feeling rushed.
The dives offered opportunities to explore the marine life typical of the Pembrokeshire coast. Crabs seemed to be everywhere, hiding among the rocks or wandering across the seabed. Every descent offered something different to discover.
The surface intervals were just as memorable as the dives themselves. Between dives, we spent time watching puffins bobbing on the water and flying between the cliffs and offshore islands. The only thing missing from an otherwise perfect weekend was the chance to swim with Pembrokeshire’s famous seals. That’s just another reason to come back again!

We were also fortunate to spend the weekend aboard Celtic Discovery, skippered by the friendly and highly experienced Dave, whose local knowledge and relaxed professionalism made every trip out to the dive sites enjoyable and stress-free.
Warm sunshine above the waves, cool clear water below, fantastic company, puffins overhead and six enjoyable dives made this May Bank Holiday one to remember. Pembrokeshire never disappoints, and we’re already looking forward to the next adventure.
